Our Process

Florida Medical Cannabis Clinic has an efficient system for qualified patients to obtain their Florida Medical Marijuana Registry Card and orders. Please review the below information to ensure that you fully understand the process and requirements before moving forward with an initial evaluation. We are happy to answer any questions you may have!

Step 1:

Initial Evaluation

Call or book online to schedule an initial evaluation appointment. You may also take the pre-qualification survey and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Once scheduled, we will email you a link and password to complete your patient forms. These must be completed 24-48 hours PRIOR to your appointment. You'll need to bring to your appointment or upload (to your patient forms) medical records dated within the last year that document your qualifying condition(s). To avoid delays, we much prefer that you provide them to us at the time of your appointment.

What does this include?

The initial exam will take approximately 45 minutes - 1 hour.  This includes time spent with our physician and our cannabis health coach. You'll learn about the Florida Medical Cannabis program and application process. Dr. Scott will conduct the State required health history and physical exam. We'll review your health goals and discuss dosing and cannabis delivery routes. We will also issue your certification and enter your orders into the state registry system.

All FMCC patients receive access to our exclusive patient resource hub to assist you with your long-term cannabis care.

The cost for our initial certification evaluation is $250.
We offer a $50 discount for veterans.

Step 2:

Register

After we enter you into the State Registry, the Office of Medical Marijuana Use will email you a login and issue your patient number.

In order to receive the required ID card, a patient and caregiver (if applicable) must submit a completed application to the Office of Medical Marijuana Use with a passport photo*, copy of State ID/proof of residency, and the required fee (currently $75). This can be submitted online or via paper application. Please see this blog post for additional information on completing your application.

A temporary ID card will be issued to the patient/caregiver via email once the application is approved. A patient/caregiver may purchase medication with the temporary card until the physical card arrives by mail.

*A passport photo is only required for patients who do not have a Florida issued Driver's License or State ID.

SteP 3:

Obtain Medicine

We do not dispense medication. Only state licensed Medical Marijuana Treatment Centers (MMTC), known as dispensaries, can legally provide medication. A list of qualified dispensaries can be found here.

We will work with you to decide on the best dosing and delivery methods for your needs. We recommend experimenting with different products and strains to find the best fit before making a large purchase. You will likely know within the first 1-2 days of use if a product is effective for your needs.

See this blog post for tips on understanding your order.

Step 4:

Follow Up Appointments

New patients must return to the office 4 months after their initial certification for a follow up visit. This follow up visit allows us to fully assess your medical cannabis treatment and ensure that you receive only the best guidance and care possible.

If at this visit it is determined that you are doing well and don't need the added support and medical assessment, we will transition you to a 6 month follow up schedule. The state required recertification and all medication orders are included in your follow up visits.

The cost for our follow up/recertification visits are $150.
